The headquarter of BayWa r.e. Solar Energy Systems GmbH is placed in Tuebingen, Germany, and the company overall specializes in wholesaling solar components, contributing to the global transition to sustainable energy sources. With 350 employees and 5 warehouses all over Germany and the Netherlands, installers from different countries are supplied to bring PV to the roofs. There are currently six other sales offices beside the Danish office, from which five are located in Germany and one in Sweden. 

Job Description 

We are in search of an experienced and dynamic Sales Director. A solid background in the renewable energy sector would be preferred but isn’t a must. This role entails not only managing key client relationships but also leading and building a high-performing sales & service team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust relationships with key clients, understanding their needs, and proactively delivering tailored solutions. Your duties will also include driving sales activities, achieving targets for renewable energy products and services, and identifying new business opportunities. Effective communication of technical aspects to clients is paramount. Therefore, it is crucial that you possess technical expertise in order to navigate the complexities of renewable energy technologies in the category of photovoltaic components. Proactive problem-solving and collaboration with internal technical teams are essential to ensure that customer needs are met. You will also play a key role in negotiating and closing sales agreements and contracts, aligning terms with the company's goals and policies. 
 
Beyond individual contributions, this role involves team leadership as you provide guidance, support, and mentorship, to foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture. When you enter the company, you will, together with the team, take over a high number of existing clients in Denmark and Norway.  

Another aspect of this role is market insight, requiring you to monitor trends in the renewable energy sector and contribute to the development of sales strategies based on market needs and developments. Regular reporting on sales activities, pipeline development, and team performance is expected. 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

For the position of Sales Director, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, engineering, or related fields, with a master's degree considered advantageous. A minimum of 3-5 years of solid experience within sales/key account/project management is required, demonstrating a proven track record in team leadership. 

Candidates must exhibit strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively. Success in building and maintaining client relationships, achieving sales goals, and leading a sales team, especially in B2B sales, is a critical qualification. Leadership skills are essential, with the capability to inspire and motivate a sales team towards common goals. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are paramount, encompassing the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, you possess the ability to work Independently and autonomously. Candidates should be willing to travel nationally and internationally, depending on client requirements.

The future Sales Director will play a pivotal role in the company's efforts to develop and maintain strong client relationships in the renewable energy sector, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills in building and leading a successful sales & service team.
